UTSA Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security
Director of Communications
Julina Macy has led the marketing and communication efforts of the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) since November 2017. She works with community partners to increase awareness of the center’s cybersecurity information sharing efforts, training initiatives, cyber defense competitions and K-12 STEM cybersecurity development programs.

The practical applications of cybersecurity are far reaching. Students, as young as five-years-old, are connected to the Internet with various devices. Creating a culture of cybersecurity is critical for young learners so that they grow with a solid foundation of good cyber hygiene and understanding of cyber defense concepts. Through the CIAS K-12 Cybersecurity Program, students will improve their knowledge of cybersecurity terminology, defense strategies from cyber threats and build awareness of cybersecurity principles, among other program benefits.
