Contact Me

I am so glad to have the opportunity to speak with you at the 2021 Alamo STEM Ecosystem Virtual Conference. I am Rachel Salinas, the Director of School Services at KLRN PBS San Antonio. My background in education includes teaching a variety of subjects in Kindergarten through 12th grade. I believe that everyone has a unique gift to share with the world and, as such, I am passionate about ensuring that all students have equal rights to a high quality education. A strong educational foundation inspires and empowers students to use their talents and knowledge to make positive progress in the world.

I am thankful to be a part of the wonderful KLRN PBS Team. KLRN is pleased to provide free, high quality educational resources and parent and teacher training sessions. There are many topics covered in our training sessions including STEM/STEAM, Children's Health & Nutrition, PBS Learning Media Resources, Positive Guidance Techniques, Social Emotional Learning, Destressing Techniques, and more!

One of the outstanding programs that KLRN offers is Watt Watchers of Texas, a state-sponsored STEM program to help boost energy literacy for K-12 students and to help schools save money by saving energy. Through the program, students, teachers, and families have access to energy saving tips, activities, and lessons. The Watt Watchers of Texas website (watt-watchers.com) offers more than one hundred TEKS-aligned activities for Kindergarten through 12th grade. The entire website and all of the engaging activities are available in English and Spanish. Additionally, the Watt Watchers Patrol Program encourages energy efficient habits at school and at home. The Watt Watchers of Texas smart energy education program can be used effectively at school, at home, or any place, and it is free.

It is an honor to be a part of the 2021 Alamo STEM Ecosystem Virtual Conference. Please feel free to reach out to me or anyone on the super team of education professionals at education@klrn.org.
